Iwonicz Zdroj

is situated in south-eastern part of Polish, in Podkarpackie province. To Rzeszow (capital of the province) is separated by a distance of 80 km. Iwonicz location at the intersection of the Low Beskid in the valley, among the green fir-beech forests, rich deposits of medicinal waters, an extremely favorable microclimate and unpolluted environment make Iwonicz as a really attractive spa. Characteristic of the local climate is humidity on lower level due to the southern confluence of the Dukla Pass. In addition, Iwonicz is situated in the largest and smallest solar cloud in Poland. This makes it as an ideal place, which affects soothing, refreshing and strengthening effect on the body.

The healing properties of local mineral waters are the greatest wealth in Iwonicz Zdroj. Iwonicz Zdroj

is the largest and oldest spa in the Podkarpackie province. Since 430 years rivet attention not only for visitors from Poland, but also from all over Europe.
Already in 1578 praised the medicinal qualities of the inhabitants of the manor Iwonicz King Stefan Batory. They are the first to benefit from the excellent climate of the spa and reap the profits for health.
In the seventeenth century, spa facility was so popular that the visitors from abroad began to try it. The medicinal qualities of the spa and its peculiarities were loud in Europe at that time, attributing almost miraculous waters of mineral properties.
The eighteenth century was a difficult period in Polish history. This could be felt in Iwonicz as well. General decline of the country meant that the drastically decreased interest in the old spa Iwonicz. Only the new owners - the family of an earl Zaluski, restored Iwonicz to its former glory. They opened a factory here for the first pool and guest houses. All were surrounded with plants and park. The effect was marvellous and Iwonicz could be accredited as a health resort with European standards. Afterwards Iwonicz is reinforcing this position. Iwonicz was becoming very popular and so remained until today.
