is the oldest part on the left bank of this city. Old Town is not only historical but also cultural and social center of the city. You will find here examples of both excellent architecture and urban shops, galleries and museums, bars and restaurants.
The Market Square is located in the heart. In Wroclaw, it is famous for its baroque buildings, which were reconstructed very carefully after World War II. The market place is so absorbing that many tourists often spend there almost the entire stay in Wroclaw. Next to the Market Square is adjacent the Salt Square. In previous centuries, the houses built here belonged to the most important local notables. Today, all have been renovated, so we can admire its colorful facade and stylish interior. It is a unique element of this delightful big city.
The Saint Elizabeth church is adjacent to the Main Market Square. This fourteenth-century Gothic edifice, which is probably due to its crude architecture of the cathedral play the role of garrison. In addition, the tower of the church is an ideal vantage point from which extends an impressive panorama of the city.
The Jewish Quarter and its synagogue is located on the west of Market Square.
However, going in on easterly direction we can see National Museum and the famous Panorama Raclawicka, located in the park of Slowacki. Just round the corner there is a picturesque building of the Museum of Architecture.

is derived from the thirteenth city. In the thirteenth century the city has been settled several times on the basis of the Magdeburg law. There are short mention about the consecration of the parish churches (St. Adalbert, St. Andrew and St. Lawrence), and archaeological sites. During the Second World War, Old and New Towns were damaged largely. During the reconstruction, due to ideological grounds put the emphasis on the saving of objects from the Gothic era, so from the times when the Piast dynasty ruled. In addition the restoration was focused first on the market. It was attempt to restore the state of the buildings from the early nineteenth century. Then historical idea was discarded and there were build modern looking buildings.
Currently, both old cities have the status of the old estate Old Town, situated in the quarter of the same name.
